Greg
Schlessinger, MD

Dr. Schlessinger grew up in Los Angeles.  He attended the University of California, San Diego and worked part time at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation. After college, he earned his M.D. at Vanderbilt School of Medicine. From there, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas, Southwestern. He then moved to Colorado where he trained in Nephrology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center department of Renal Disease and Hypertension.

He enjoys working with patients with all types of kidney disease, as well as patients with difficult to control hypertension. During his time in Colorado he served as Medical Director of three dialysis units and he has been recognized for his excellent work.  In addition to full time medical practice, Dr. Schlessinger is committed to teaching the next generation of physicians and now serves as the Associate Program Director of the HealthOne Internal Medicine Residency. 

He is deeply involved in the medical community. He has served as both Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Department of Medicine at SkyRidge Medical Center where he still serves on multiple committees that drive quality patient care. He currently serves as a Vice President of Clinical Affairs for US Renal Care where he continues to focus on improving the quality of care delivered to patients with kidney disease.

Away from work, Dr. Schlessinger enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and three dogs. In addition to participating in activities with his family, Dr. Schlessinger loves bicycling and hiking.
